Southwest Valley School buildings are located in the towns of Corning and Villisca, two of the most proud and progressive communities in southwest Iowa. The students attend classes in well-maintained facilities, which undergo annual modernization while maintaining the classic, historical image of a small community school. The student population ranges from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade.
With a dedicated professional instructional staff that averages in excess of 13 years of teaching experience and a student-teacher ratio of 11:1, Southwest Valley Schools are committed to caring for its students in order to help them follow our mission statement which is: The Southwest Valley community will create an enthusiastic learning environment to promote responsible and empathetic contributors to society.
Our students enjoy tremendous community support. The citizens of both communities have provided ball fields, telecommunications-distance learning classrooms, a small experimental farm, modern musical classrooms, science labs, computer labs, and new playground equipment.
