Superintendent's Message for May 2023

We are almost to the 2022-2023 school year finish line!  We will recognize all of the accomplishments of our 2022-2023 graduates at our annual scholarship night on May 17 at 7:00 p.m. and the graduation ceremony on May 21 at 2:00 p.m.  Many of our students have been able to participate in field trips and special events the last few weeks of school – thank you to the continued support of our communities!  The last day of the 2022-2023 school year is May 23, 2023.

Before we wrap it up and call it a year, we will host three more track meets, including the district meet on May 11, 2023.  Tennis and golf are also headed to the postseason and all of our clubs are concluding with their special end of the year events.

One of my top priorities remains to keep our children safe.  It never matters to me if the weather is good or snowing, first part of the year, middle or end of year, I constantly worry about the safety of our students when they are driving, riding, or in the classroom.  I continue to pursue the best use of our safety grant money and met with a company this week on a safety system that I will present to the school boards.  We are taking steps to ensure our safety plan is updated as new technology and security options become available.

I began my career in education 27 years ago because I love working with students and seeing them grow yearly.  As I complete my fifth year in the district, we have had many celebrations and a few trials to work through, but we always become stronger.  I love leading this district because we have great support from the communities and stakeholders.

Our students completed their ISASP testing in April and the results we have received are showing impressive growth.  Our students and staff are reaching new heights in our district!

The community committee for the $19.2 million facility renovation project in Corning has met several times as we move forward with an improved educational and safe learning environment.

We are finishing the school year strong by celebrating many accomplishments of our students and staff!  It is always, no matter what, a Great Day to be a T-Wolf!
